I specialize in treating individuals coping with adolescent phase of life issues, launching adolescents into adulthood, multiple diagnoses including anxiety, AD/HD, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, autism spectrum disorders, couple's issues and high conflict family interactions.

I have been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at the DBT Institute of Michigan, but I also approach clients using techniques including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Systemic Therapy, Play Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Please note that while I have the ability to perform DBT informed therapy, I am unable to provide full DBT without a team that is in place.

What are the benefits of Individual Therapy?

What each person is likely to gain from individual therapy is different, but there are some pretty clear themes. Most people report the following:

  • Better sense of self, and increased confidence.
  • An ability to control emotions reliably.
  • Increased ability to generate positive emotions.
  • Improved relationships with loved ones.
  • Decreased stress.
  • An experience of lightness once difficult emotions are released.
  • Fewer conflicts.
  • A sense of true accomplishment- therapy is sometimes very hard, but it is almost always worth the effort.
